NEW YORK, NY – Earlier today, Second Stage Theater announced Jim Parsons, the actor most known for playing lovable misanthrope Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, will star in their upcoming production of Mother Play.
In a related press release, it was also announced that Iain Armitage, the kid from Young Sheldon, will star in their upcoming production of playwright Young Paula Vogel's Young Mother Play.
Paula Vogel’s Mother Play, according to the press release, is a “bitingly funny and unflinchingly honest new play about the hold our family has over us and the surprises we find when we unpack the past.” Similarly, Young Mother Play is all of those things but also they’re kids, or whatever’s funniest.
Mother Play will begin its run at the Hayes Theater in April 2024. Young Mother Play will play at the Wee Widdle Hayes Theater.
Parsons will co-star along with stage legends Jessica Lange and Celia Keenan-Bolger, whereas Young Sheldon will co-star along with Tiny Little Jessica Lange and Andrew Keenan-Bolger.
