WILMORE, KY — How bold! After receiving many tasty suggestions from the audience, university improv troop Friday Night Live has officially gone with "coffee shop" for the location of a scene.
”It’s always a safe location to pretend to be at,” claimed FNL’s troop member Caden Acorn as he mimed making a strawberry matcha. “Why risk it? It’s always best to be realistic while in improv, right?”
We spoke with Senior Garvin Sneed, FNL’s student director, who was nervously biting his nails as he watched the scene play on.
”Caden always chooses a coffee shop, even though he's actually kind of bad at it,” whispered Sneed as he wiped the sweat from his brow. “He never knows the correct coffee to milk ratio. I mean, if you’re going to make me a pretend caramel macchiato, at least make it drinkable.”
Sara Crowley, an FNL troop member that believes improv is her only purpose in life, had her own opinions on the valiant location choice.
”I'm not even sure someone did yell 'coffee shop' this time, I think we just assumed,” stated Crowley as she mimed mopping the cafe’s floor. “Why do we always do that? Only so many things can happen at a coffee shop. Why can’t we go with something crazy like Long John Silvers? I’d love to act like I’m eating trout.”
Acorn also claimed that their university improv troop was better than Saturday Night Live due to Friday being the true best day of the week, but when we brought it to his attention that SNL didn’t use improvisation for their show, his pretend spilled his pretend latte all over his pretend apron so that he couldn’t comment.
