BREAKING: 2026 Tony Awards to Close After One Performance

NEW YORK, NY - In a devastating turn of events, the 2026 Tony Awards have announced that they will close after just one dress rehearsal and one performance.

“The economics of Broadway make it difficult for a big awards show that doesn’t happen on Broadway and is hosted by a pop star to survive. Plus, most of the audience are already booked with other commitments,” noted Tonys producer Leana Ghelpo, letting Radio City Music Hall know they may begin fielding offers from other renters. “At least we’ll always have the proshot.”

UPDATE: The 2026 Tony Awards have just announced a national tour to begin in 2028.
