LOS ANGELES – Although details for the sequel have been kept tightly under wraps, anonymous sources have revealed that Wicked: For Good will reportedly follow the story laid out in Act Two of the popular Broadway musical Wicked.
“We’ve had these scripts under lock and key, with heavy NDAs in place,” a source close to the production team verified while waving a large stack of NDAs. “We have absolutely no idea how this was leaked to the public. Hopefully people don't believe everything they read.”
Fans of the first film are especially disappointed to see so many major plot points divulged.
“It’s really not fair to those of us who have been following the movie since it was first announced,” complained Wicked movie fanatic Amy Weissman, who also confirmed that she’s never heard the terms "cast recording," "slime tutorial," or "Wikipedia." “There’s just no way to stop the internet from hunting down and releasing spoilers, and that’s a damn shame.”
Universal Pictures has shared that it will be tightening its grip on all remaining footage of the upcoming sequel.
“We’re watermarking everything that gets released,” explained Universal Pictures representative Dave Platt, after assuring us that no, he was not related and definitely not a nepo baby.
“We may not have been able to stop this major leak, but you can be sure that it won’t happen again. Audiences will have to wait until November to learn what happens to Elphaba and Glinda, and that’s a promise.”
At press time, when asked if there are plans to continue the story of Oz past the highly-anticipated sequel, studio execs noted that they would “love to,” but that there simply isn’t much more story to tell.
