Heyy, heyyyyy, you ever get to thinking about like…like if you take all of the collected works of William Shakeshpeare. And you pick out any of ‘em…be it any of the surviving 38 plays, or 150 sonnetsh…well, heck, all Shakeshpeare can be Drunk Shakespeare if you just think abouddit! BURP
Just imagine…you don’t gotta have a whole producshunnn behind it. You don’t need realishtick coshtumes or fanshy sets…just the words, the players, and an audience to lishen to it…and drinks. Lotsh of alcoholic (hic) drinks. Can I get another? A good sherris sack? I’m good for it, I promish…
Thanksh. Now where was I? Oh yeah! See, what the Drunk Shakeshpeare Society’s figgured out is that people love watching actors tackle some of the most technnn…technic…technicalllllly challenging writing in the English catalogue. But with one of them trying to keep up after five shotsh. Shpeaking of, you want one? I’m buyin’.
Annnd sure. SURE! You could argue that it’sh not really Mac*BURRRRP*beth they’re doin’ up there, but a diff’rent parody show entirely. That it’sh more conshept than content, and I’m allll OHkay! All my kingdom for you to get off your high horse, Richard Plantaganet.
It’sh not like you go exshpecting…ahhhh what’sh his name? That guy who did all the…the Moriarty guy? He’sh brilliant. He’d prolly do great. But, like, it’sh incredible when you go in with the right exshpectashuns!
They were red-hot with drinking, sho full of (hic) valor that they shmote the air for breathing in their facesh! It makesh him, and it marshh him; it shetsh him on, and it takesh him off! I would give all my fame for a pot of ale… You can go shee Hamlet done as serioushh as a heart attack, but where’sh the fun in that? These sober-blooded shows do not love me, for they cannot make me laugh.
Now if you’ll (hic) exshcuse me, I godda head back soon. Intermisshun’s almost over, an’ I shtart off Act Two! BURRRP
