Openly Gay Actor Darts Back Into Closet After Drawing Attention of Ryan Murphy’s Casting Team

LOS ANGELES — Rising star and formerly openly gay actor, Carey Wilson, has reportedly gone running back into the closet after television producer Ryan Murphy appears to have taken notice of him.

“I actually don’t share details about my personal life, and, uh, my sexual orientation has nothing to do with my work,” shared the actor, a Drama Desk nominee who was once a marshall at NYC Pride. “Deleting the rainbow emojis from my IG bio, every photo of me in a harness, and photographic evidence of the existence of my longterm boyfriend has nothing to do with my recent run-in with Ryan Murphy during pilot season.” 

Ryan Murphy, who is in pre-production for his next show “American Horror Story: Horny Inscestuous Cult,” spoke highly of Wilson’s emerging talent.

“When I saw how he breathed life into such a complex, meaty role on stage, I knew I had to get him to play the role of poorly-written Spooky But Hot Gay Guy Who Has Sex with His Step Brother,” exclaimed Murphy, foaming at the mouth, eagerly waiting to turn a promising actor doing serious work into the next Matthew Morrison. "But, turns out he’s super straight. My mistake! I guess Evan Peters will have to do.”

Young talent getting sucked into the world of Mr. Murphy and his clown shows are a growing area of concern among emerging queer artists. 

“Going back into the closet is a particularly tricky topic right now, as it’s a really tense time in our country. I mean, Ryan Murphy has deals with both FX and Hulu,” said an anonymous actor writing under the pseudonym "Enemy of Dorothy." “No matter what side of the political spectrum you lie on, I think we can all agree this is a nonpartisan issue.”

At press time, the newly super straight actor was marked safe from Ryan Murphy’s casting team and can continue to do interesting work on stage and screen and oh no, he just got a call from Taylor Sheridan.
