Jane Lynch Moves Up "Funny Girl" Departure to Oh Man There She Goes

by Caitlin Bitzegaio. @caitorade.

NEW YORK, NY - Jane Lynch has announced today she will move her departure from Funny Girl up from September 4th to oh man there she goes.

“I think that’s the last we’ll see of her because her good water bottle is gone,” said stage manager Karly Felps, who had nothing but positive things to say about Lynch while trying to locate most of the principal cast for tonight’s performance on the Find My Friends app. “Jane was great to work with, or possibly is great to work with, if she hasn’t skipped town before curtain.”

The Emmy Award winner was originally scheduled to play Mrs. Brice through the end of 2022, then announced she would leave alongside her co-star Beanie Feldstein on September 25th. Lynch’s final performance was once again moved up to September 4th before today's news.

At press time, a number of standbys are scheduled to fill the role until September 6th, although their agents have reportedly inquired whether that’s a hard-and-fast date, or if they can peace out, say, August 20th-ish.
