Broadway to Fly Blood-Stained Handkerchiefs at Half-Mast in Honor of MOULIN ROUGE! Closing

NEW YORK, NY - It was revealed today that the theatre district will fly large white handkerchiefs covered in blood at half-mast, in order to honor Broadway’s Moulin Rouge! closing after seven years.

“The show is dying, so we theatre people will portray that in the only way we know how: dramatically unveiling a stark white handkerchief stained with red,” noted producer Liliana Kelpo, signing construction permits for the Six honorary reflecting pool. “Flags will fly at half-mast all week, after which they will be replaced by, I don’t know, probably some Shen Yun ads.”

At press time, audience members planned to honor the musical in the only way they know how: not acknowledging that they can see its chest moving up and down even though it’s supposed to be dead.
